Holy Rood Catholic Primary School

Holy Rood Catholic Primary is the original Catholic school of Swindon. It was founded in 1859 in Regent Street and moved to the present building on Groundwell Road in 1899. The school was extended in the 1950's so that there is now room for two classes of 30 pupils for each year group. In 2000/2001 a new classroom was built and the three original Victorian classrooms were made into two larger rooms. The loft space above the remaining two Victorian classrooms was converted to two new spacious, bright and warm rooms. The additional rooms enable us to teach the Reception children in three groups of twenty with the additional room being used for the children to work in small groups, enhancing levels of teaching and learning. Age range 4-11. Last Ofsted report = Requires Improvement.
